President George Adams, John Collier and others are making connections with other relief organizations around town. Gerard, Joe and Carol visit The Word Church in NE Houston to explore partnering with their pantry, which usually serves 50, now serving 300.
The truckload of baby and hygiene supplies will be distributed at approved shelters in communities that are already adept at serving their populations. The people at The Word Church have dozens of programs that serve their local population. Other teams went to other shelters. We will not try to reinvent the wheel but work with programs already in place and lead by experienced people who watch how supplies and funds are spent. We will also not work with organizations so large that fraud and abuse are likely.
