Why?

Kathryn R. Kest has been in Toastmasters since 2010.  In addition to her certification as a Project Management Professional, and a Grateful Leadership Trainer, Kathy has achieved 2 Distinguished Toastmaster Awards. 

She serves as the District 56 Director which has over 5,000 members in the Greater Houston area.  Like Rotary, Toastmasters International is a global community, with a presence in 143 countries, boasting 348,000 members. 

Kathy has served in leadership roles in TI District 56 for the past six years.  TI focuses on personal leadership and communication skill development.  The plan is for the alliance between Rotary and Toastmasters to provide new opportunities to apply these skills, make new connections, and contribute to our communities. 

We invite Rotary members to attend local club meetings, practice speeches and presentations as well as take advantage of the 8 new courses being developed by TI to provide in-depth leadership and communication structure.  We expect these courses to roll out by the end of 2020.

Today Kathryn will be sharing heartwarming stories of her personal journey and how she accidentally became a leader.  The title of her presentation is “Why”.
