Senior Deputy Rene’ W. Dennis has worked for the Harris County Sheriff’s Office since 1986.  She has worked closely with several different areas within the agency during her tenure there, including Central Records, Criminal Warrants, Inmate Processing Center, Booking, Releasing, I.D., Fingerprints, Data Control, Detention Operations, Outlying Jails, Patrol, and the Community Services Division where she has spent the last 17 years of her career.  She loves being able to bring information to the communities she serves to help protect them better.    She has a Master Peace Officer Certification, she is a Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) Certified Instructor, a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, a Certified TCOLE licensed Instructor, an American Sign Language Instructor, and is the Coordinator of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA).  Deputy Dennis holds many titles in addition to the ones listed above, but the one she is most proud of is the title of “Mother” to her two children that she raised on her own since the death of her husband, Deputy Joseph N. Dennis, who was killed in the line of duty in 2001.
