Our club district grant project...WATER!

The District Grant presentations happened on Saturday and I presented our grant application for a water filter to be installed in GilGil Kenya, near Nairobi.

The Sky Hydrant Max can filter up to 12,000 liters of clean water a day for up to 10 years with easy maintenance. Our partners are the local GilGil Rotary club and Disaster Aid International. The filter will serve up to 4000 people a day including a school and a medical clinic. The school serves hundreds of students, including some orphaned by HIV/AIDS and some fleeing forced marriages and genital mutilation. I am thrilled for this to be our project and I hope you are, too.

Additionally, I was able to hear 10 or so other clubs talk about their projects and got some great ideas for us to consider this year. I wish you all could have been there to hear how much good area Rotarians are doing in our District. You would be even more glad that you are a Rotarian!
