“Make Rotary Club of West U Great Again” and “Hope for Rotary Club of West U” claims past presidents.
In a surprise move coinciding with past president Mike Woods' arrival from San Juan, Puerto Rico, a group of past presidents seized control of the club this morning. It is thought that the driving force was past president John Neighbors. The belief that Mr. Neighbors' directed the coup d'état was not surprising. After all, many club members remembered how Mr. Neighbors attempted to become “President for Life” on April 1, 2015.

Speculation is that the timing coincided with Mr. Woods' Houston arrival to lend the coup credibility. After all, as Mr. Woods stated, "This effort was destined to be a FEMA-esque disaster. Who knows better than me what one of those looks like?"

The newly selected governing council intends to govern the club only until true reforms are in place. The council is adamant it will not govern beyond June 30, 2019 . . . if not sooner.
