Good evening West U Rotary and friends,

I hope you all had an enjoyable 4th of July celebration and spent some time reflecting of what a wonderful country we live in. I hope you were able to attend our meeting this past week. Janice had a guest from India - Priyamvada "Pri" Singh, PhD  - she is running an AID’s program for the University of Manitoba in Jaipur. In addition our Past President John Neighbors presented the club recognition awards for the 2014 – 2015 rotary year. John, thank you again for a wonderful year!

The club partnered with the City of West U in our annual 4th of July parade and pool party. This year’s parade included a float decorated by our master crafters – Carol Lester and Danielle Edmonds and a special appearance from Skeeter (the Sugarland Skeeters mascot). Thank you again to all our corporate sponsors. With your generous support we will make one of the largest donations to the West U Little League Challenger Division in recent years! Richard Lazear – many thanks to you and your family for all the hard work in making this event a success! And thanks to all the club members who volunteered in the event. Unfortunately Craig Friou was not able to retain his title as best Father Flop – the competition was pretty wide this year.

Don’t forget – Tuesday July 14th is our first club board meeting at 7 AM and July 21st is our first monthly social – Happy Hour and dinner at Frank’s new restaurant Boca 2 located at 7951 Katy Freeway. Please see the calendar for additional upcoming events.
