Project Joy & Hope Funding Considered

Recently we heard from Dr. Jan Wheeler and PDG Bob Gebhard about temporary housing made available to families who come to Houston for the treatment of their seriously ill children. 

A duplex costs $275,000 to build and we have been invited to participate at $25,000.   The club board voted to support this.  It will go to a vote of the Foundation board this week.   If you have any comments about this project, please contact me (Carol Lester) or Carl Stutts (Foundation President) in the next few days.   FYI, the foundation has that amount and more in undesignated reserves at this time so you will not be asked to donate any additional funds.   Hopefully this will reduce the need of some families to sleep in their cars in the hospital parking lots due to the dearth of affordable housing options.
