Rotary Club of West U - 25th Annual Golf Fundraiser
It was a beautiful day to play golf on Monday, Apr 19th. Covid still keeps many people away, but we did have 40 plus golfers come to Riverbend CC to try their luck at a hole-in-one. The honorees of the tournament were the five founding members of the Stella Link Redevelopment Association; Russ Schulze, Jim Ainsworth, Peter Taaffe, Bob Barnes, and David Marks. They are responsible for turning around a very dilapidated neighborhood into what now includes the Weekley YMCA, Sheltering Arms, and Houston Public Library on Stella Link, just south of Holcombe Blvd.
The Weekley YMCA and the West U Rotary Club Foundation are the benefactors.
The only women who entered made it a fun day! Why not, golf is known for silly hats, pants, and socks!
