Yea! Books for the World is once again sorting and palletizing books to ship to Rotary Club led literacy projects around the world.
In case you are new to the West U Rotary Club, Books For The World is an International Service Project, started in 2000 by the Rotary Club of Seabrook and supported by Rotary Clubs nationwide, Rotaract Clubs, and Interact Clubs. We are proud to announce the shipment of our 430th 40’ shipping container of books and school furniture (for a total of over 21 million pounds with a value of over $210 million) to Rotarian led literacy projects in 25 countries in Africa and around the world.
You are welcome to serve at any of the book sortings and to bring your friends and middle school and older kids to help sort and palletize books on any of the dates below.
Our warehouse is not air-conditioned or heated. Please dress appropriately.
Yes, you are welcome to bring used English (or Spanish) library, children's, and text books to donate to the project as long as they are in good condition and are of a content useable by an adult or child in an English speaking country.. We are no longer accepting encyclopedias or magazines.
The new address is 3401 Navigation and our space is about half way down the warehouse complex.
