Applying for a Grant

West U Rotary Club Foundation (WURCF) is the charitable arm of West U Rotary Club (WURC)

AREAS OF FOCUS

Community Service: Funding for projects that benefit the local community. Funding for basic needs such as food, housing, and safety. Scholarships and programs that provide education and enrichment for youth, college students, veterans and seniors. Programs that protect and enhance the environment.

 

International Service: Grants for Rotary International programs such as Polio Plus and Books for the World. Funds to collaborate with other Rotary Clubs to support programs that reflect Rotary International Areas of Focus.

 

Youth Service: Funding an annual Youth Exchange Student. Support Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, Interact Clubs (12 – 18 years), and Rotaract Clubs (18 – 30) at local schools and universities. 

 

Vocational Service: Funding education at all levels including area public and trade schools, prisons, and programs to lift people out of homelessness.

 

WURCF does not make grants for the following:

  • Endowments, Individuals, multi-year commitments, or reduction of operating deficits

  • Religious organizations, except for projects to benefit the community-at-large
  • Political activities or organizations that influence legislation
  • Dinners, galas, or run/walks not sponsored by Rotary

Usually, WURCF does not fund:

  • General operating expenses or activities that have already occurred

  • Organizations where a WURC member is a paid staff person

  • Travel expenses

  • Salaries, unless it directly connected to a specific project

  • Requests that do not have a WURC member sponsor or in which WURC is not involved.

It  is highly recommended that you have a West U Rotary Club member sponsor your grant.  If you don't have a sponsor, it is suggested that you join us at an upcoming club meeting to meet potential sponsors.
