Community Service

Our Club's commitment to is service to the community. All Rotary Club of West U (Houston) members are invited to get involved in the activities promoted by Club members every year in support of the community - many service projects are done in a day or a few hours. All Club members share their skills and expertise and inspire others in the process. 

The Rotary Club of West U (Houston) has for a long history of supporting the following organizations in Houston:

Every year the Club welcomes new project ideas from all members as it seeks to always increase its positive impact on the world.

Our planned activities from July 2022  to June 2023 will support the following organizations

    • Operation Love 3rd Ward

  • in Promoting Opportunities:
    • Engineers Without Borders
    • Martha's Way
    • The Women’s Resource

  • in Fighting Hunger:
    • Rise Against Hunger
    • Second Servings
    • Star of Hope (Bagel Patrol)
 
  • in Promoting Inclusion:
    • Easter Seals
    • Little League Challenger Division (West University Little League)
Internationally 7 projects will support needs of organizations and partner clubs and provide scholarships:

    • Angola (wheelchairs and inclusion)
    • Ethiopia
    • Kenya
  • in Central America
    • Belize
  • Worldwide - Rotary initiatives:
    • End Polio
    • Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE)
    • Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
 

Club Service

Club members are also involved in activities that ensure the smooth functioning of the Club. These include:

 - publishing the weekly newsletter

- managing the website

- supporting meeting setup and takedown

- managing social media

- managing the clubs finances

- organizing weekly speakers

and many other activities.
